Emma8887 is really right. furthermore, having a degree in canine behaviour and training I KNOW that punishment does not work and is inhumane on any amount. Learning theory has proven this. Clicker training is the scientifically proven method for training any animal. Electric collars are about to be banned throughout the UK and, indeed, have already been banned in Wales. I strongly suggest that no one calls themselves a “behaviourist” without formal methodical study and CPD above and beyond…..
who the cares what it does my dog has been outside for 5 hours and not a peep. She is contently watching people in the park and chewing her chewy where normally she’d be barking like a mad dog. If we didn’t get this bark collar the dog was on her way out the door because of neighbor complaints. Then what? She is a hyper dog she would have most likely been stuck in a shelter until place to sleep.

Try training with a clicker. It’s much more animal-friendly and it works really quick. Besides, nervous dogs may possibly be easily frightened by this and this may possibly turn into assault once the dog figures out collar = pain. Try putting on a collar then.
It’s discomfort…not pain. If you had a clue you would keep your mouths shut because obviously you have no thought what you are talking about. Done correctly it is not cruel. My self I would only use a collar if traditional methods did not work but the collars have their place in training. I would very have to use a correction collar on my dog to train him then have to go out on the road with a shovel to scoop up my dog because he didn’t listen to commands.
